The Gauteng Human Settlements Department together with the City of Ekurhuleni have embarked on title deeds hand over and consumer education workshops.

Through this drive, a total of 2 282 title deeds are expected to be handed over to the rightful beneficiaries across the City.

Speaking at the title deeds handover ceremony in Tsakani on Wednesday, October 6, Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Human Settlements Cllr Lesiba Mpya said a title deed was an important document that confirms ownership, while providing security of tuner for the recipient.

“The title deed handover ceremonies are preceded by Consumer Education Workshops to ensure that beneficiaries are capacitated with title deeds information and all questions that may arise are attended to before the event. The handover is also part of an education awareness programme to provide a broader understanding of home ownership to those who have received their deeds,” said Mpya.

Since the beginning of the title deeds consumer education and handover sessions, over 800 have been distributed.

The title deeds consumer education and hand over session continues on the following dates and venues:

  • Villa Liza Extension 2 –11-12 October, where a total of 158 title deeds will be handed over.
  • Windmill Park Extension- 13-14 October where a total of 137 title deeds will be distributed.

Those who are yet to get their title deeds are urged to constantly enquire at their nearest Ekurhuleni Customer Care Centre (CCC), please remember to take your green bar-coded ID or ID card with.
