Cllr Mzwandile Masina, the Executive Mayor of the City, will be leading the sod turning ceremony of the Tambo Springs Inland Terminal Port.
The Tambo Springs Inland Terminal Port is an approved Presidential Strategic Infrastructure Project located in the Southern Region of the City Ekurhuleni along the road freight and rail corridor that links to other terminal ports in KwaZulu-Natal, Gqeberha and Western Province.
The project is valued at R23 billion and will be implemented in stages over a period of 15 years.
The 2200 hectare Tambo Springs development combines all facets of warehousing, distribution and operational efficiencies, and is set to double the current freight logistics capacity heading in and out of Gauteng.
