This office provides technical support to the legislative provisioning and policy imperatives that drive supply chain management and legal services. This also refers to mSCOA (Municipal Standard Charts of Accounts).

The fundamental aim of this regulation is to improve municipal accountability by standardising the classification of budgeting, financial management and reporting elements across all South African municipalities. Amongst the requirements of mSCOA is that operational and capital budgeting must be project-based, and aligned to the integrated development plan (IDP) of the municipality.
